Do I need restaurant experience to own a Big Salad?
No. Our Systems were designed for those without any restaurant experience.
Can a franchisee own multiple locations?
Yes. Our franchisees are part of The Big Salad Family and we have programs to support Area Development for multiple unit expansion.
What skills does it take to be a franchisee?
The Big Salad is looking for business minded people who are passionate about being successful, providing first class service and being part of an emerging sophisticated fast casual brand.
I’m not familiar with opening or operating a restaurant or business. What support is available to help?
Our complete turnkey approach includes everything to enable you to be operating a franchise. From site identification, lease negotiation, architectural design, construction build out, equipment selection and placement, dining room, line operation and kitchen training, sales/marketing and grand opening plus ongoing support.
Can anyone with money buy a Big Salad franchise?
No. We do not sell franchises, we award them. At The Big Salad, it’s not about the race to thousands of stores — it’s about establishing solid relationships with solid people. We’re less concerned with getting stores up quickly, than we are with getting the right stores open with the right ownership in place.
What is the fee for a franchise?

The franchise fee as stated in the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) is $49,000 for a single location, $74,500 for 2 location and $89,500 for 3 locations.

What is the investment to own a Big Salad?
The range to open a The Big Salad location including franchise fee, training, site build out and furnishing, and start-up capital is between $269,250 – $478,000 per location.

Is financing available?
The Big Salad is a pre-approved franchisor with the Small Business Administration (SBA).
What royalty does The Big Salad charge?

The Big Salad weekly royalty is 6% of gross sales.

Is there a marketing/brand fund fee

Each location contributes 2% of weekly gross sales to The Big Salad national brand fund.

Once I’m awarded a Big Salad franchise, how long does it take to open?

The most important step in opening a successful Big Salad restaurant is ensuring the correct locations is selected. Once we help you select the perfect location, the buildout takes approximately 3-4 months.
